Plaster cuff René van de Kerkhof

549,95

René Van de Kerkhof (September 16, 1951) played a total of 47 matches for the Dutch national team in which he scored five goals. Just before the kickoff of the 1978 World Cup final, Van de Kerkhof was the center of a riot. Because he had broken his hand, he played with a plaster cuff. Argentine captain Passarella demanded that Italian referee Gonella replace it. Only when national coach Ernst Happel then sent the Dutch players to the locker room did Gonella decide to allow Van de Kerkhof's "hard hand" after all.
