Louis van Gaal (Amsterdam, August 8, 1951) is a Dutch soccer coach and former soccer player. In his career, he was coach of Ajax, FC Barcelona, AZ, FC Bayern Munich and Manchester United. The 2014 World Cup was his first final tournament as national coach, of the Dutch national team. As club coach, Van Gaal won national awards in five different countries. He also had great success internationally. With Ajax, he won the UEFA Cup, the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup and the World Cup. With Barcelona, he won the UEFA Super Cup.
